The Cape Fear Green Building Alliance (CFGBA) promotes building approaches, collectively known as green building, that are environmentally responsible, health conscious, and financially sound.

Getting Connected
Getting Connected is a local citizens’ group pursuing development of new bicycle and pedestrian paths CONNECTING the extended neighborhoods of the Ogden Elementary School area. These paths are contemplated along such roads as Covil Farms, Hawk, Red Cedar, Middle Sound Loop, Darden, and beyond.

Junior League of Wilmington
The Junior League of Wilmington creates positive change in the lives of children and families in our community by identifying individual and organizational needs, implementing community programs, distributing funds raised, and utilizing trained volunteers.

Mustache for Kids
This local charity is pretty simple. You grow a mustache for four weeks of the year in order to raise money for local children's charities. In 2010 the group raised over $35,000.

North Carolina Coastal Federation
An organization which provides individuals and groups with the assistance they need for active stewardship of North Carolina’s coastal water quality and natural resources.

1% for the Planet
1% for the Planet exists to build and support an alliance of businesses financially committed to creating a healthy planet.

Surfrider Foundation Cape Fear Chapter
Activities and campaigns the Surfrider Foundation focuses on -- to protect our oceans, waves and beaches -- fall into the categories of Clean Water, Beach Access, Beach Preservation and Protecting Special Places.

SUP Cleanup
The manifold activities of SUP (Standup Paddleboard) Cleanup include identifying impending cleanup sites and scheduling monthly cleanups. Along the way, the organization also aims to recruit new members, to inform the public about the trash problem strangling our beaches and oceans, and to develop new chapters throughout the coastal states.

UNCW Entrepreneurship Center
The mission of the UNCW Entrepreneurship Center is to be a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth in Southeastern North Carolina by linking together emerging and high-growth ventures, entrepreneurs, and relevant support organizations to create business growth, jobs, and innovation.

Wrightsville Beach Cleaner Greener Advisory Committee
The group served as an advisory body to the Board of Aldermen in Wrightsville Beach, NC. Its task was to develop a litter management and control program for the Town, and to advocate the program to the Board.
