Not to hit you up with additional negative news prior to the holidays, but the NC gas tax is set to rise $0.04 per gallon in 2012.  That will put the NC gas tax at $.40 per gallon, one of the highest in the country.  Call me a penny pincher, but I will continue to fill up at the SC and VA borders whenever I travel out of state.
